“The book of kings  شاهنامه”

By reading, analyzing and digesting these stories almost a century after their re-creation and at least two centuries after their birth, I am noticing that the people of this region are still very much attached to their traditions and habits when it comes to tragedy of life, power systems and social hegemony. The folklore stories of a culture reflect the cognitive social processes of that culture and to this day, the same philosophy of life has concluded our political, social and cultural characteristics in who we are and how we deal with situations. We have been making the same mistakes as well as the same problem solving through out this time. What I am presenting in this series is a new facade for Shahname’s stories with a modern approach, in which I believe I can better reach out to the young generation, hoping to show the similarities between our ancient mentality and the contemporary history of this region.
